Does sex ruin a friendly relationship or make the bond stronger?
While I was in high school, I became close to two good friends. They were always together and anytime you find one missing you can be sure the other would tell you where to look. Most people thought they were dating, I thought the same too but nefer asked. But few years after college I came across the girl, I asked her about her good friend and that was when she told me they weren’t dating in high school but while she was in college the boy came to visit her and one thing led to another and they had sex. That was the last time they ever talked to each other as friends. She said she felt different and couldn’t look him in the eyes again. This made me wonder why some people say when they sleep with a friend the bond is stronger. What do you think about it?

I honestly think it can go either ways. I have had guy friends, and one thing led to another and we became closer, and other times it ended the friendship. It really depends on the people, how they handle the situation and possible awkwardness that can take place after the fact. I have however heard many times, an experienced myself that when it’s a drunken friend hook up it makes things more awkward then if sober when hooking up. I think if two friends are to have sex with each other, but not necessarily deem it a relationship then both parties need to not only understand this, but both need to be able to handle the situation maturely and not act like a child after the fact. Another thing that can ruin a friendship after sex happens is attachment. Either the girl or guy gets attached to the other, even though that wasn’t even in the plan in the first place. If anything, I think it’s something that should be discussed to some extent before it actually happens, yeah it may be awkward talking about it but maybe jokingly say “So, what happens if we get drunk and hook up? You still going to be my friend?” and laugh about it, so it’s not so tense.
